Mullagh Development
There are about 12 members in this group and it is divided into 2 groups. One group applies for and looks after any Grants which might enhance the Parish and the other group runs the local Lotto. This provides the necessary funds to pay for the upkeep of the multi-purpose Sports Field which in turn allows many people to hold Activities for the purpose of entertainment in the Parish. Between these 2 groups the Parish is looked after in the sense that whatever needs to be done Mullagh Development can take charge.
'Mullagh Entire' Drama Group
This group was formed around 2001/02 and has successfully produced four plays which have brought quite an amount of entertainmnet to the Parish. At present it is starting to produce its 5th Play ready, hopefully, for Spring 2006. Every year the group sends a donation to 1 or 2 charities. Plays produced so far include: "Wanted One Body", "Brush With a Body", "Sive", "Big Maggie".The Brownies
This is held for the young girls of the Parish, in the Community Hall every Friday night. They enjoy going to the Cinema and other fun outings. The group is run by local volunteers. The I.C.A.
This group was formed many years ago and at the present time there are about 12 members. Meetings are on the first Wednesday of each month from 8.30 - 11.00 p.m. where a guest is invited in to give a demonstration, usually of great benefit. Group members each in turn serve refreshment on the night. There is a Social organised each year where locals join us socially for music, dancing and refreshment. The I.C.A. take care of the catering for any events which might be held in the Parish.Contact: Marie Sexton, mariesexton19@hotmail.com
Mullagh Woman's Group
A recently formed group where the local women of the Parish meet every Tuesday and Thursday morning in the Community Hall for a chat and to take part in various courses. To date courses taken include Art, Drama, Yoga, and Personal & Interpersonal Skills. It can be said that this is a social outlet as well as an opportunity for those interested in joining the 'Back to Education' Scheme. There are also outings and other events organised.Contact: Mary Margaret Shanahan, mullaghwomen@eircom.net
